Mark Cumbest has shaped the Mississippi Gulf Coast through more than 50 years of professional excellence and community impact. A seventh-generation Jackson Countian, Mark graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi (USM) in 1975. After achieving a perfect score on the state broker's exam, he founded Cumbest Realty, specializing in land and commercial real estate.
In 1983, Mark became the youngest person to earn the Accredited Land Consultant designation. He later served as National President of the Realtors Land Institute and became the youngest inductee into the Mississippi Realtor Hall of Fame. A five-time Realtor of the Year, Mark was appointed by the Governor to the Mississippi Real Estate Commission in 2005, where he has served three terms as Chairman.
Grounded in faith, Mark is a born-again Christian who integrates biblical principles into his daily life and business, currently reading the Bible through for the 39th time. Outside of work, he plays saxophone in his church orchestra, drives antique cars, and enjoys photography. Mark has no plans to retire, remaining a dedicated pillar of the Gulf Coast community.
